I found this nest laying on the ground near our home when we lived in Spring Hill, Kansas. I wanted to do a more still life approach with it so Chris and I went out to a park and found these beautiful acorns on the ground. It was sort of symbolic for us since we had three kids in the nest for so long. The maple leaves were an added touch because of their beautiful colors. We don’t shoot a lot of staged photographs, but this one we really wanted to do.
