Whoever comes up with the names of butterflies should be arrested. For several years, we have been calling this a Monarch Butterfly. After a keen eye (my sister-in-law) saw this photo, she thought it may actually be a Painted Lady. So we hit up Google and discovered it is actually a Variegated Fritillary. Just flows off the tongue huh? Never the less it’s a beauty. Chris and I decided to just name it The Meadow Butterfly. Take that!
