This photo was taken on the historic Alpine Tunnel Trail near the ghost towns of St. Elmo and Hancock, Colorado. As we stopped for lunch I noticed these beautiful and perfect little pinecones everywhere. I love to shoot with a very shallow depth of field when I am shooting these types of subjects. I placed them on a rock with the distant mountain range as the backdrop.
