This old pine tree sits on the edge of a cliff overlooking Williams Creek in the San Juan Mountains northwest of Pagosa Spring, Colorado. We first saw it on a hike on the Ice Caves trail that branches off from the Piedra River trail. We knew we had to go back with our camera and capture it. As the clouds rolled through, we finally got a few exposures where they were in the right position. I had always planned on a black and white version in my mind and really love how this turned out
