Sometimes a photograph just cannot do justice to the incredible beauty and power of a mountain landscape. With The Dillon Pinnacles it’s almost like that. Such an amazing sight to see as you make the drive from Gunnison, Colorado westward. We drove by this view two times before we finally stopped to shoot it with the stormy clouds building up to the north. I decided to make this black and white to show the rugged details in the range with the scrubby brush and rocks in the foreground. As close as I could get to the feeling of being there.
