We have been driving by this scene for two years since our move to Spring Hill, Kansas. The first fall we were there, the farmer was growing soybeans in this field, and they turned this beautiful golden color in the fall, but just for a week or so before they turned brown. Sadly we missed the shot that year.

Last year he rotated his crop to corn. We were hopeful he would plant beans this year and he did. Since the scene faces north we knew we would not get any kind of true sunset, but were hopeful for some epic clouds in the northern sky. After a day of storms we went out and captured this scene. A new favorite.
