This mountain in Southwest Colorado has special meaning to Chris, who worked at a ranch that was in the shadows of Bristol Head when she was younger. Her family also made numerous trips to this area for their family vacations.

This photograph was shot the same morning we shot the “North Clear Creek Falls” image in the spring of 2022. Right before this photo was taken, Chris was watching a momma Elk in the little clearing across the canyon. She called me up to this viewpoint to see. By the time I got there, the Elk was gone but I was taken by this view. I loved the light from the early morning sun as it started to rise over the mountains to the east, with the clouds looking a bit angry above Bristol Head.
